Treatment Philosophy

My counseling approach is non-judgmental, empathetic, warm, educational, supportive, and calming. An important goal of mine in therapy is to educate individuals on their treatment options, refer to appropriate resources, provide more insight into each persons’ situation, help people feel empowered to navigate obstacles confidently, and build a positive trusting relationship. The purpose of each therapy session is to teach coping skills, build insight, motivate self-learning, and encourage independence. Ultimately, I am here to be your cheerleader and provide evidence based interventions to support you through your chosen individualized treatment goals. My professional experience has been mostly with families and youth, as I have worked in school settings and children’s outpatient clinics. Aside from that, I have also worked with adults in outpatient mental health settings dealing with various mental health disorders and substance abuse challenges. I’ve been in the field since 2017 and am well versed in multiple intervention modalities. Generally, I allow each client to provide insight on which intervention method they feel would work best for them. It is important to me that clients feel they are getting what they need out of therapy and have a voice in their treatment. I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your journey towards healing!
