Kathy Fortunato, LCSWR
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with expertise in supporting adults navigating significant life transitions, including those related to medical diagnoses, experiences of grief and loss, challenges in relationships, and shifts in career paths. Additionally, I have a particular passion for working with young adults aged 18-25 as they navigate the complexities of finding their path in the world.
Treatment Philosophy
I have been in the social work field for over 20 years, with experience in a variety of settings including HIV, cancer, and mental health. My approach to therapy is that everyone has the tools they need inside of them, sometimes we just need to collaborate with another person to discover and use those tools to gain insight and growth. I use aspects of strengths-based therapy, CBT, and solution- focused therapy in our work together, and I truly see therapy as a partnership towards developing the skills that will allow you to experience the ups and downs of life in ways that allow you to feel successful, competent, and at peace.
